I awake every morning
to a bed that's been tossed in,
and turned in,
but I don't care.
You can elbow my sides,
and kick my shins,
as long as I have the pleasure
of spending every day with you.
There's always a period of nothingness,
where we lay and laugh together,
Then maybe, we'll decide how our day goes....
And we might just stay in our pjs,
playing video games all day...
But I'll always have fun as long as you're there.
You can insult my playing all you want,
but I'll just smile and nod,
just to humor you.
There are always dull moments, I will admit;
which are killed rather quickly...
with a poke or twenty.
Sometimes it's irritating to be so ticklish,
but you enjoy it,
and I get a laugh (ha, ha)
which is all that really matters,
for the time being.
And there are times we forget that love can be simple,
when we make it so unnecessarily complicated,
that we throw ourselves down rocky hills...
and it'll take a few bumps and bruises
to set things straight again...
after all, what doesn't kill us makes us stronger...
Truer words were never said.
Then the night will come to see us,
and we'll end up where we began,
in a bed a little too small for two people,
So we'll toss and turn,
and I'll be smothered by you,
but I won't care,
as long as you smother me with love,
when the sun rises again.

Simple words my dear,
it's all about simple, honest words...
